Lab Rat

Lab Rat is a piece on me questioning my faith, as one who was brought up in a Filipina-Catholic household. The notion of questioning God and His existence is considered to be a blasphemy, and this prevention of access makes me feel further from home. Nevertheless, there is still an underlying faith that of the existence of a transcendental higher power. This power, beyond human comprehension, poses me with a newfound curiosity as I navigate the world. I imagine myself to be part of a Sims game, its avatar’s emotes being careless pressed by the entity control it. Within that higher entity lies another entity, provoking questions about the unknown.
