My creative mediums are my salvation. I have a great interest in understanding the development of individual identity in the face of postcolonialism. Ever since I have started immersing myself into the Singaporean art community, I became more keen in finding more liberal expression in the Southeast Asian contemporary scene. This involves me taking creative risks with found objects that I hold great sentimental value to, dismantling them to create new meaning of art, and also facing my fears of my perceived shame by doing public performances. With my love for music, I am experimenting with how I can use Karaoke as a medium to create new soundscapes. All of which enhance my penchant for creating for arts’ sake, while bearing responsibility in speaking about the injustices faced with my Filipina identity.
