Reminiscing on Filipino culture that raised me, one of my biggest attachments to home is due to the authenticity of its food. "Have you eaten yet?" is a common question that our elders ask, as a means of genuine care and concern, and at times a discreet way of apologising. It is a part of my identity that I find hard to separate, because we cook with love, and we feel its love even if unspoken.
